A Cotton Warehouse from 1817 is now one of the chicest hotels to spend a night in downtown Savannah, Georgia.  Poised along the Savannah River is a beautiful old building made of brick, and iron, and stone from the belly of old sailing ships.  This building is the “River Street Inn”.  A hotel since the mid 1970’s as a part of an urban renewal project, this hotel received its newest makeover in 2018.  The goal was to keep the character of the building, the character of the neighborhood, and the character of Savannah, while offering a fresh new boutique design for Guests in the 21st century.  The hotel is in a neighborhood of beautiful historic buildings, facing the Savannah River, with views of historic looking paddle wheel boats, and modern-day container ship tankers.  The city is a living history of shipping, literature, Gardens, and ghosts.  The design of the hotel was inspired by all these wonderful ingredients, and a desire to offer genuine Savannah hospitality.
